Blue Moon Milk

Description

A warm latte-style beverage featuring blue butterfly pea flower powder mixed with almond milk and spices. You’ll want to drink it more than once in a blue moon! 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon blue butterfly pea flower powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • Pinch cardamom

Instructions

  1. Whisk the almond milk and blue butterfly pea flower powder over medium-low until the milk is steamy.
  2. Remove from the heat and whisk in the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Add your beverage to a high speed or “bullet-style” blender and blend until frothy, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  4. Pour your drink into a cup and enjoy.

Notes

This recipe makes a small cup of moon milk. 

You can use cow’s milk, but adjust the sweetness and coconut oil accordingly, or simply eliminate one or both, depending on your taste.

You can of course use a milk frother for this recipe, or even steamed milk if you’re lucky enough to have an at-home espresso machine.

Adding a teaspoon of tahini or cashew butter to the blender can make your almond milk a bit frothier.
